Valerie Riccardi established DCMI based upon a belief that she could provide a service and product that outperformed its competitors. She instituted the fundamental principles that DCMI uses daily: value, service and community.

Val is a results oriented and hands on professional garnering more than twenty years of experience in real estate due diligence consulting. As a proactive problem solver, Val combines a strong technical background with a broad-based knowledge of real estate finance to effectively address unique constraints and keep projects on track. Her unparalleled attention to detail and effective communication and negotiation skills help ensure project success and customer satisfaction every step of the way.
Val has developed and continues to nurture lucrative relationships with national and community lending institutions, land acquisitionists, building officials, tradesman, material suppliers, architects, engineers and homeowners. She is involved with many organizations including: AACEI, NAIOP Commercial Real Estate (NAIOP), ASTM International Inc. (ASTM), International Code Council (ICC), Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) and the Virginia Banker’s Association (VBA).
She holds a Commonwealth of Virginia Class A Contractor’s License with a specialty in Building Construction and Environmental Services. She obtained Bachelor’s Degree in Communication from George Mason University and completed the ASTM Phase I and II Environmental Certifications. She continues her professional education by completing graduate level coursework in Real Estate Finance, Environmental Policy, Property Condition Standards and Construction Code.
Heather oversees accounting and billing, with a commitment to ensuring that all client invoices are timely, accurate, and easy to understand. She also handles communication with clients and vendors, manages the administrative staff, and supervises our human resources, payroll, and marketing activities.
With nearly twenty years of professional experience, Heather possesses a vast array of business knowledge that she applies to improving our business performance and customer satisfaction. Heather holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing (Summa Cum Laude) from Radford University and she is a commissioned Notary in Virginia.
Anne provides administrative support to the entire DCMI team. Her effective communication skills coupled with her ability to analyze, diagnose and troubleshoot problems make her an integral part of the company. She answers the phones, sends out ATPs, and requests all required documentation for engineering reports. Her organization skills and meticulous attention to detail ensure that nothing is overlooked.
Anne has over twenty years of administrative and customer service experience which enables her to excel in her position. Anne attended Germanna Community College with emphasis on Business.
Lawrence is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the company’s day-to-day operational activities and providing administrative and logistical support to the entire staff. He is the lynchpin of our company, applying his extraordinary organizational skills to ensure that everything runs smoothly and effectively.
Lawrence has over fifteen years' experience in project management and field testing coordination. He has worked for several engineering firms in the Northern Virginia region including ECS, Geotechnical Solutions and Soil Consultants. Lawrence has completed many professional development courses in quality management, compliance, customer satisfaction and OSHA.
Roger is a Registered Environmental Property Assessor (REPA) specializing in Environmental Site Assessments (ESA’s), environmental regulatory compliance and soil and groundwater investigations. He has experience evaluating a wide variety of industrial facilities, construction sites, commercial sites, and government institutions for compliance with federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations. Mr. Naylor has been providing these comprehensive assessments for over twenty years.
There has been particular emphasis on technical report writing, reviewing scientific data and studies, supervising collection of field data for environmental investigations including underground storage tanks (USTs), aboveground storage tanks (ASTs), hazardous waste programs, project management, and environmental regulatory compliance. His project management experience has included writing proposals, planning and coordinating field studies using innovative techniques, contracting and subcontracting, accounting, evaluating budget and insurance requirements for hiring subcontractors/consultants, and supervising field investigations under strict deadlines and budgets. Roger earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences with an Ecology Emphasis from the University of Maryland, College Park. He is a certified EPA AHERA Inspector.
Robert is a skilled construction professional with over forty years’ experience in residential, commercial and government construction. He has worked as a Superintendent for new residential home builders and for multi-million dollar DOD projects. He also worked for the federal government as a Contracting Officer’s Representative/Project Manager for VA Outpatient Clinic construction. He has conducted inspections for the VA Loan Guaranty Division and the US ACE as a construction quality assurance inspector. In addition, Robert owned and operated a home improvement company and completed many restoration projects in Old Town Alexandria and the DC Metro area. Robert is a Certified Professional Inspector (CPI) at InterNACHI and has OSHA and First Aid certifications.
Eric has twenty-five plus years' experience in residential and commercial construction. His background is in project management which has given him extensive knowledge of a variety of construction procedures and materials. Prior to joining DCMI, Eric managed all aspects of the construction of a 10,000sf warehouse/office space. He consulted with the owners, contractors, architects and county representatives ensuring that the project met its' deadline and stayed on budget. Eric holds a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing from Ferrum College.
John is a construction management professional with over fifteen years' experience in commercial and residential home construction. Most recently he worked on a HUD project with 320 units in Anchorage, Alaska. Prior to that, John worked on various projects in Northern Virginia and the District of Columbia.
